Selectmen weigh ambulance service shift amid public outcry

NH RINDGE — The Board of Selectmen faced an extended public forum on the town's ambulance service arrangement with JRMA. During the 43-minute citizen comment period, residents expressed strong support for continuing service with JRMA, which the town paid 85,000 dollars in 2025 plus a 40,000 dollar contingency fund. Chairman Bob Hamilton stated the board continues discussions with JRMA and alternative providers, including Cheshire County Ambulance Services.
Selectman Larry Cleveland noted concerns about service availability and resource allocation between Rindge and Jaffrey. Selectman Tom Coneys separately warned that the 2026 budget would increase property taxes by approximately 35 cents per 1,000 dollars of valuation.
