Rindge approves $24,000-plus in police and fire equipment purchases

NH RINDGE — Rindge selectmen approve over $24,000 in police and fire equipment purchases. The Board unanimously approved $4,069.68 from the Police Mileage Budget for eight new Glock 9mm service pistols and related equipment to replace 13-year-old 40-caliber weapons, with Police Chief Rachel Malynowski citing loose sights and six current officers. The Board also unanimously approved $19,731.44 from the Fire Detail Revolving Fund for two thermal imaging cameras, four gas detection meters, an EZ-IO system for emergency access, and three sets of fire gear, addressing equipment failures that forced Fire Chief Bob Faas to use his own camera at a recent house fire.
The Board additionally accepted a $1,525 P.O.O.R. donation designated for gas meter purchase.
