Zoning board approves variance to convert commercial to residential

NH RINDGE — Rindge zoning board approves variance for residential conversion of Thomas Road property. The five-member board voted unanimously to permit conversion of three approved commercial condominium units to four residential units at the Ashoryn, LLC-owned site, citing unique seasonal weight restrictions on Thomas Road that render commercial use legally infeasible. Chairman George Carmichael confirmed with Department of Public Works Director Mike Cloutier that the town has never granted exceptions to the weight limits.
The Rindge Conservation Commission found no issue with the application as presented, and member Marcia Breckenridge moved to attach the applicant's written justification to the minutes to document the board's findings.
